Today has been an amazing day full of impressions from visiting different schools of Noorderpoort - VET in Stadskanaal, VET school Campus Winschoten and Energy and Maritime school in Delfzijl. All the schools have different learning environments, methods of teaching, vocaitions and so on.
But what impressed me most is the agreement between the school and the students at Stadskanaal school. All the first-year students receive a small book about the school which gives general information on all the facilities, programs and opportunities at the school. At the end of the book one may find 5 rules which have been agreed upon by the school administration and the students. Here they are
- Eat only at the canteen or the atrium
- No caps, hats and overcoats in the school
- Smoking only at a certain territory in the campus
- No mobiles and tabs in the class, except for learning
- Behave well
And the students themselves control that everybody follows these rules. Here are the last-year students who wear special vests and are on duty for today
And it reall works here.
I wonder if this will work for NVTC!?
